About International Community School Singapore (ICS)
International Community School Singapore is the only Singapore American school teaching within a Christian framework.
ICS Singapore consists of more than 400 students from 29 different nationalities around the world. The diversity of our student body is just one of the reasons learning at ICS is so special. Our students engage in deep dialogue about the complex world we live in and gain real-world insights from the cultures around them. Out of the top private schools in Singapore, ours is the only one whose Biblical framework positively affects every aspect of a student’s education.
Our teachers view each child as a unique individual created by God and care for each one with such insight, no matter the individual’s personal faith. One way our students experience Biblical teaching is through our annual community service trips which partner with non-profit organizations throughout Southeast Asia and broaden our students’ worldview.
On the academic front, 80% of our graduates attend US universities. According to our annual alumni survey, our graduates feel that ICS has equipped them well for the rigors of university academics and has given them the skills necessary to achieve success in whatever field of study they choose. As an Advanced Placement school, we offer students flexibility and work with the individual student's needs, dreams, gifts, and abilities.

How would you rate International Community School Singapore (ICS)?
I have had the privilege of enrolling my two children in ICS, the third international school they've attended, spanning two different countries, with an American curriculum. I must say, ICS truly distinguishes itself in the realm of education. One of the standout features of ICS is its dedication to building a solid foundation and pursuing academic excellence. Being an educator for 13 years and having experienced three different education systems, I greatly appreciate ICS's K-12 rigorous American curriculum and its range of standardized testing and standards-based grading, which provides students with multiple opportunities and measures growth holistically. I've witnessed firsthand the transformative impact of ICS on my older child who is in Grade 5. Through his involvement in the school soccer team last semester, he went from being a novice with a willingness to learn to a confident player. Weekly competitions against other schools provided an excellent platform for him to develop his skills and build strong relationships with his teammates. I remember his initial struggles, saving only two out of seven goals in his first game. However, the unwavering support from his peers and coaches bolstered his confidence, positively influencing his academic performance. Furthermore, the active involvement of parents in supporting the school through various community events has been encouraging. All in all, I am blessed to be a part of ICS, where my children can learn, love, and serve in a nurturing and caring community. To sum up my one-year experience at ICS, it's the kind of school you wish you could have attended while growing up.
We chose ICS because of its strong community spirit. It is a school that cares not only about its students, but also about families, teachers, and staff. The school also has a strong academic focus, and students are supported and encouraged to succeed academically. However, what drew us to ICS is that the ICS community cares about the character of its students and not just about their grades or achievements. Students are encouraged to succeed in and out of the classroom but are also given opportunities to make an impact on the ICS community and the broader community through acts of service. ICS may not have all the facilities of a bigger school, but it has the spirit of Christ at the centre of everything - from admissions and administration to the teachers and the sports department.
We have been part of ICS for the past 8 years! We now have 5 kids enrolled in the school and seen my kids grow and thrive from preschool to high school. In a transient and somewhat turbulent world, we are so thankful for the biblical worldview weaved into the curriculum as well as the attention, academic support and christlike love from teachers, counselors and administration through all the ups and downs of life! If you value your children growing up with christian foundations and character education and accountability, opportunity to participate in team sports on top of academic rigor - this is the school for you!
ICS is the kindest , most welcoming school I have come across, plus their standard of education is well above average. It is a school where all students, teachers and parents are kind, respectful and supportive of each other and the community, which is very unique.
My child has blossomed so much in this school - we never want to leave! She always comes home saying that she loves school and her teachers so much. I love hearing about what they are learning in school, especially the guidance lessons on how to manage emotions, frustations, friendships, etc. It makes my work as a parent so much easier. The teachers and admin of this school really care about the students and do their best to make them thrive in school and beyond. The parent community is wonderful and inclusive as well!
My 3 children are currently in each division. My husband and I are so thankful to have found this school because it offers a great environment to build and nurture good, kind and great characters. My kids are also challenged academically . I’m sometimes blown away by the conversations that they have about what they learned in school. They don’t just memorise things, they apply it! They also offer enough extra curricular activities at an affordable price for my kids to try new things. Facilities are old but well maintained. I’ve also never been in a school where Teachers and staff are so happy and they greet everyone by name. Everyone matters there. Bullying is dealt with promptly. And kids there are generally inclusive and friendly. I would highly recommend this school if you’re looking for a safe space for your child to learn, and fail. Grow and thrive. And this school has helped my children blossom in ways that I’m so thankful. It’s not easy bringing up kids in this generation, and I’m glad I have this community to be part of my village to raise them well.
We initially had high hopes when we sent our daughter to this school. Pros: - School curriculum is well balanced and has many good ideas. - Some of the staff are friendly is do try their best to be positive. Cons: - Toxic culture of student to student bullying with many terrible and disturbing incidents occurring or later revealed to us (affecting many other students beyond just my daughter). These incidents sadly revealed the teachers and school to be shockingly resigned/accepting, slow to react and at a loss of what to do when confronted with the issues. - Despite claiming to be able to deal with neurodiverse students (eg. ADHD), the actual reality reveals that many of the teachers when faced with it to be negative, impatient and ill-trained to handle such students despite low student to teacher ratio - My daughter started hiding in the toilet longer and longer to avoid the classes and the environment she was facing. In reaction, she was barred from coming to school and many sudden requirements were thrown up and demanded from us (that would require a good amount of time to resolve) as conditions for her to return. This would have meant that she would miss school and all of her lessons for weeks (essentially missing the rest of the term) when easier solutions were possible or could be explored. - The impression at the end they gave to my wife and I was they were perhaps concerned that people would not follow through with administrative effort to handover all the necessary items and matters. Hence they started by misleading us by claiming there is a refund but once the handover process is done and completed, they then backtracked and told us there is actually no refund based on the terms. Based on all our exchanges, we were tactful and polite through all of our dealings with the school and we are not the type that would normally be difficult or complain unreasonable but now we just want to share our experience. In summary, my daughter suffered terribly from the year she was at this school and now is in another school with a more welcoming and inclusive student culture and is thankfully now thriving.
If you want a school that will enfuse Christian values into your children and give them a genuinely safe and caring environment, this school is amazing. Can't recommend it highly enough!

There is a focussed and strategic approach to integrate a sound moral worldview to their approach to a sound education. There is a distinct recognition that a solid educational foundation is not just expressed through academic excellence, but a good approach to ethics and wholistic development. Furthermore, the school is committed to building a strong community between students, teachers and parents. The small class sizes promote relationships between students of lower and higher grades, as well as between students and their teachers. I cannot say enough to promote this school as a good consideration for international schools in Singapore.

All 3 of my kids graduated from ICS, and said their first year of university was easier than their senior year at ICS! They were extremely prepared for university academics! And the added bonus of being able to participate in the many athletic programs was fantastic! Excellent school!

I have 3 children who attend ICS. The teacher are amazing when it comes to individual learning styles. My children benefit from the small class sizes. The community at ICS is so welcoming, everyone know you on campus. It is very evident the teachers and staff are taking the time to invest in my children's lives. We could not be more pleased.
