There are four defined education levels in Vietnam: Preschool and kindergarten, Primary, Secondary, University or college. Interestingly, only primary is compulsory so children can finish school at 11 years old!
Living in Hanoi
Hanoi is a busy city with over 8 million people living in this historic capital city. At its centre is the Old Quarter of narrow streets split into different trades or manufacturing.
The cost of living in Hanoi is relatively cheap compared to European countries and the cost of schooling also compares well. As some of the newer international schools in Hanoi come equipped with amazing buildings and facilities, the prices can vary but there is a wide range to find the one that fits your budget. Comparing with other Asian countries, international schools in Hanoi are generally cheaper than Singapore or Hong Kong but more expensive than Bangkok.Getting around Hanoi in the centre is quite easy due to the proximity of all the main attractions. If you travel by car, be prepared to be on full alert as the rules of the road aren’t always followed by everyone!
