What worse could happen to a child on their first day of a school visit? Within just one hour, my 4-year-old lost his front four teeth due to a football goal pole falling on him. He innocently attempted to play and hang on the pole, but it was shocking to witness the massive structure collapse on him with such force resulted in the loss of his front teeth, with two canines left half broken, and deep cuts on his lips. The apparent lack of precautionary measures taken by the school made the situation even more distressing. The pole wasn't securely fixed in the ground and was not even marked as risky or labeled with a "do not touch" sign. The absence of such warnings left children vulnerable to such accidents. Furthermore, the absence of essential medical facilities on the school premises added to our ordeal. The frantic search for first aid kits, doctors, or nearby clinics only exacerbated the situation's urgency. Though the school staff assisted in contacting our own doctor, precious time was lost, and my son had already lost a significant amount of blood and fainted twice before we could reach medical care. Despite our efforts to address the issue with the management and highlight the need for improved safety measures, our concerns were met with indifference. The management's insistence that such incidents were solely the responsibility of parents, without acknowledging the school's duty to provide a safe environment, was deeply disappointing. Overall, this experience left an indelible mark on our family. Very disturbing and unforgettable day!!
I am a former student in the MYP 5 and I can guarantee that this school is not worth the money or time. The teachers, specifically in the high school, do not provide the adequate assistance to students who are more in need of support. Specifically mathematics. The teacher does not provide any support to students who need it and clearly does not care about their education. They only care for the students who are more capable than others in the subject. However, the students who actually need the help do not receive any. The high school specifically lacks the facilities to help students reach their full potential in their high school experience. There are barely any bathrooms and the laboratory lacks equipment. Overall, the school does not provide the education expected considering the money spent every year. Do not send your children here if you care about their well being and education.
An overall disappointing experience, where it's clear the administration is more interested in collecting fees than in the welfare and happiness of the students. Poor communication, actual lack of follow-up from the school health nurse, broken and damaged playground equipment that isn't repaired, as well as dead plants surrounding the school. The teachers try, but can only do so much to make up for a lack of interest on behalf of the senior administrative staff to develop community or improve any situation. Bullying was an issue despite a long-winded speech about the school being a safe place, with the responsibility being placed on the students to resolve issues rather than working with them or communicating.
Extremely professional

Great medium sized private school with a truly international studentship. Teachers are mostly experienced and coverage of subjects is very good. Hours are 8:30am till 3:30pm plus ex-curricular studies/activities till 5:00pm

We have really enjoyed being part of the ISH school community for the past 3 years. The teachers are dedicated, skilled and very caring. It also has an exciting new playground which my kids love! I would recommend this school

Learning Support Services in the ISH (International School of Hellerup) is absolutely appalling and dreadful! Any type of learning support that a student is required is not followed up on, even a smaller intervention. I have 2 children in that school and I am constantly in communication with school about my kid's need (acknowledged by and supported with medical reports), WITHOUT any progress. WORST, some educational interventions provided to my children have actually never taken place (and I found about this one year after). We are now looking for other, better school!

My family had a really bad experience with this school with 2 of our 3 children. They were labeled as difficult/naughty/disturbed, when in fact after intensive psychological testing that my husband and I initiated it turned out both children have severe ADHD and Autism. The school kept increasing the fees to accommodate our children’s difficulties to the point it was breaking our family financially. The extra assistance offered made no difference and both children’s self esteem hit rock bottom with one developing OCD from stress. Skip forward 2 years, all 3 children are in the Danish school system (that allows children to be children - more play time, a relaxed learning environment and realistic expectations of children’s behaviors) and my kids have never been happier. After describing some of our experiences to one of our new Danish schools, they started to refer to our previous school (International School of Hellerup) as ‘the previous trauma’ and to be completely honest, that is exactly what is was - a traumatic experience for my husband, myself and our 2 eldest children. I do not recommend this school. I seriously regret changing from our local Danish Børnehave to this ‘school’ (for want of a better word).
