Classes are in German. In the elementary school, school curricula are taught based on the curricula of the state of Thuringia, in secondary school I according to school curricula approved by the KMK on the basis of the curricula for the Gymnasium of the State of Thuringia. The school's curriculum takes into account the specific site conditions in the United Arab Emirates. The elementary school covers grades 1 to 4. In addition to the German, mathematics, science, art, music and sports subjects, which are also common in Germany, English and Arabic (differentiated into Arabic as a foreign language and Arabic as mother tongue) are also taught from the 1st class , Due to the state laws, Islamic religious instruction is offered for Muslim children in all grades. For non-Muslim children, ethics is offered instead of Christian religious education. In addition, there is a book lesson in each primary school class.
How would you rate German International School Sharjah?
I am well aware of most education systems and how they are thought to the pupils. But the German International School of Sharjah is scamming children and their parents. You pay unjustifiable amounts of money for the little and bad education your kids receive. The teachers are random young germans that come to the UAE to enjoy the rich lifestyle and brag about their new home. They aren't interested in educating your children. The school opened an IB section a few years ago and it has been downhill from there. Every year 90% of the students have failed. The school is not ready to teach high school students. Children have been seen smoking on in school premises (classrooms) and teachers have been ignoring it to avoid any incidences with the UAE police. If you're thinking of enrolling your child please reconsider!!!
I would give this School 0 stars, but this option is not available. Food has a low quality, no PE Hall available (school shares it with the french school) and the school does not know how to solve problems (between students). 0 Stars
