Overall

Xavier, as of 2023, is licenced as a French school up to middle school, but not high school. High school students are treated as home schooled students for the baccalauréat (i.e. their class grades are not considered for the bac, only their final test score). As such, they focus very heavily on bac preparation. Their staff numbers and facilities are limited, so they cannot offer all specialities. Thus, students may have to take alternative specialities they are not interested in. Before sending your child to the high school, you should check to make sure they have the subjects your child wants/needs to study. They are also very focused on the idea that students will study in France for university. They are not always aware of university requirements in other countries. Most of the teaching staff are good, but they do not seem to be well coordinated or supported by management. One advantage Xavier has is that its tuition is half the price of other international schools in Seoul as it is a non-profit Catholic school. It also has a good community of parents and students with many community events.

This is a nice little school set in a beautiful location. It is quite traditional in it's approach, but has a relaxed atmosphere. The kids I know that go there love it. It is a good alternative to the English speaking international schools and more reasonably priced.
