Overall

The IFS is a new school and has a lot to work on. The School has issues with recruiting and retaining teachers, staff turnover is high during the year and communication with families is very poor and often inaccurate, including when prompted. The school markets itself as bilingual, however it's fundamentally French with fully French speaking staff and both the English and Dutch teachers in our case were French native. Parents community is young and more international than the Lycée Van Gogh, although many families have children in both as the Lycée does not offer Collège so kids who want to continue in a French system have no other choice in Amsterdam. The School has obtained the AEFE certification after the first year, however has a lot to work on leadership to position itself as a true modern, diverse and academically valid School, besides slogans and marketing flyers.
