Nice teacher and children are happy and enjoy going to school

Fundamental lack of support for children development. The reporting on child’s progress is very ambiguous and does not provide a clear framework on areas that require improvement (essentially a baseline). The method of teaching appears to be student led, which does not work when the children are at a stage when discipline and routine is required- the results speak for themselves and speaking with other parents it’s the same sentiment. In the end, we have removed our child from this school as basic maths and English was far below sub-standard. We would describe the school as a year long summer camp (an expensive one at that), rather than an educational institution. Unfortunately in Discovery Bay you are limited to options close by, so unless you move to another location or make a longer school commute, you’re shoehorned into this school if you wish your child to follow the British Curriculum (loosely)

Very poor children support and academics.

I found that the classes were poor and the school was not very well organised. The teachers were not very nice and classes were overall just boring. The facilities were small and almost useless. A few of my classmates broke the school code on numerous occasions. It also was not rare to see kids stealing from the cafeteria either.

There are quite significant behavioral problems within the school. Communication with parents is poor and reporting and feedback is so ambiguous it is difficult to know how well your child is doing. Trending educational initiatives are adopted almost continuously but are not followed up and quickly disappear.
