Educational principles

Ardingly's ethos centres on knowing and valuing every student as an individual, with outstanding pastoral care ensuring no one is overlooked. Within a Christian, Anglican tradition, the College fosters the character, aptitudes and personal qualities students need to shape their own future.

School values

Ardingly College describes itself as a values-led school with Christian foundations, expressed in a way it intends to be meaningful to children of any personal faith. Four values shape daily life: engagement, understood as joining in and valuing participation rather than achievement alone; compassion, seeing the world through others' eyes and acting on it; resilience, building coping strategies and the confidence to take risks; and collaboration, teamwork across the academic curriculum and beyond. The College frames these around a stated aim of a culture of care in which every pupil is known, with small pastoral groups so that no one is overlooked.
