Alegra British and International School is a private school in Madrid with more than 1,100 pupils, including international students. It offers a bilingual, bicultural education whose progressive approach incorporates both the academically rigorous Spanish and English national curriculums. Alegra Prep School covers ages 3 to 10 following the English National Curriculum, with the IB Middle Years Programme in Secondary and the IB Diploma Programme in the final years. The school admits boys and girls into Early Years and Year 1 and girls only thereafter. It is a Catholic school and a corporate work of Opus Dei.

Alegra's SENCO department, part of its Departamento de Orientación, states that education goes beyond the academic. The team includes a Principal SEN Coordinator and SENCos for Prep School, MYP and Diploma Programme, SEN teachers and a speech therapist. The Alegra Arts programme groups six disciplines through which each pupil can find their own means of expression, including chess, music, painting, needlework and the stage.
