About Meridian International School (MIS)
Meridian International School (MIS) is located in Prague in the very heart of Europe and offers parents and students a modern, multicultural, as well as an enriching philosophy of learning, based on the very best British and European traditions of school-age scholarship.
Split across two school sites, our Kindergarten, Pre-School, and Primary School, are located within Meridian’s traditional home, which has been our main-building ever since the school opened in 2004. As a growing and increasingly successful institution of learning, we recently opened our new and modern Secondary/High School section, which moved to a new building in 2016 (a short five-minute walk away). In both locations, we offer modern learning facilities that perfectly compliment the needs of our teachers and enhance the learning of our students.

How would you rate Meridian International School (MIS)?
It follows British curriculum in a real international atmosphere. Students are from more than 50 countries. Administration supports students to participate Model United Nations. My son went to Poland for MUN debates. School also organises its own MUN. It is a great advantageous for students.
International Cambridge curriculum is applied by using technology during the lesson. Also supporting Matiruta programme is a great advantageous for natives. I highly recommend.
This school is amazing and I really like it! The education is very good and I learned a new language in this school.
The school is very bad I do not recommend. The options for igcse are really bad. 1 science policy is stupid.
Parent of wretched student Second day I am listening to the laments of my child, student (and probably ex-student soon) of Meridian Primary, whose most favourite teacher was sacked day ago - this Friday. I saw my child looking forward to his Czech lessons and enjoying it as any time before (sic!), as soon as to ICT lessons taught by the same teacher. My child told me, what a difference was it to have Mr. J as a teacher in both of his/her subjects (I don’t want to be discovered because of my child’s gender, that’s why I will use neutral gender). I was told they – children – were simply enjoying every single lesson with him. In ICT they allegedly made whole book writing about pupil’s summer holidays experiences, in Czech my child wasn’t ever speaking and mainly understanding better this terribly difficult language than after about 2 months with Mr. J. What is the most startling fact, they (school director with his Turkish chief or head of primary) didn’t tell the students the fact he is leaving any way, they even didn’t let my child to see his/her teacher for the last time and say GOODBYE to him. Maybe this fact hurts him/her the most. Nobody told us or my child anything, just the teacher himself supposedly responded to some student “I am not working here anymore” my child told us, that’s why he/she is frustrated. Students are confused, baffled, in shock now, as my sweetheart told me – his/her classmates have got the same meaning. On upcoming Tuesday a parents meeting is planned, I hope somebody will clarify the situation to us. I am not the only confused parent, as I found out, mainly because my child told us what the situation was like in their Czech lessons. We were waiting for their Czech language books for almost 2 weeks and after our child got them, we had to buy a copy ourselves (what is a nightmare to buy any book during first two weeks after school started), because the pupils were not permitted to write anything to this book, although it is designed as a workbook and students has to write into it. But we paid “just” 300 000 CZK tuition fees two months ago. Besides of an exercise book they are giving them just copied papers, what my son/daughter usually lost after one hour, because he/she is like me, his/her father. If school doesn’t want the teacher, who can bewitch his students so much, that they are enjoying lessons, clearly something is rotten in the Meridian. I didn’t find any difference between how much the children were taught comparing to previous years, but I found out BIG difference in his/her interest in learning during last two months. Mr. J, thank you and I hope you will find a school, where they enjoy your teaching style same way as our children. Post Scriptum: Excuse my English, it is not on academic level any more, but I wanted my children to be taught English as soon as Czech in Meridian. Now I doubt they even know what they are doing.
We spent lot of time in different countries. We came from Singapore and my 2 kids were very happy at this school from beginning. The school is modern, lot of space, big garden.. the teachers are very good, mostly native speakers,. We have nothing to say against. Just perfect
If you want to be ripped off, this is very nice place. The attitude of the management is unbelievable. We (parents) are not partners to the principal (owner) Mr Gursoy, we are only a source of his wealth and we are treated correspondingly.

I have worked at Meridian as a French teacher and I must say that I found its environment incredibly warm and stimulating. In my experience, it is a very rare thing to see kids running towards school with a smile on their face. A place where teaching is a joy and therefore the experience of learning is a pleasure. Very multicultural, a place where many different nationalities mix and a fertile ground for growth and education.

I'm so happy to be here. It's name of the quality. Ministry of Education shows this school as an example to others. There are lots of native speaker teacher and students more than 50 different nationalities. As I notice, parents trust Meridian. It's a safe area for their children as it's motto, "Here, your child's future is safe". :)

I studied at Meridian for about 3 years and it was a really great experience. Not only did I learn a lot and improved my English knowledge, I was also brought up in a multicultural environment and made many friends from all over the world. The exposure to different cultures and lifestyles broadened my social education and prepared me for my studies at an international university where I am currently finishing my degree.

The secretary in the main office who answers the phone is rude and dismissive. The principle doesn't know or care about who his students are, only cares about impressing the British visitors. The assistant principle made insinuations on autism when discussing my son's behavior issues. The ONLY thing good about this school was the teacher who helped my son, despite his difficulties, to adjust to life here in Prague. She was very kind, and patient with him, and had he had a different teacher, I am sure he would have had a completely DREADFUL year. They have a new assistant principle for the primary school this year. Maybe they will care more about the individual students than just accreditation. I my husband's company would pay for a different school, my son would be attending another school.
