About Charles Dickens Primary School Berlin
Charles-Dickens Elementary School was opened in 1971. In the 1992 school year the Europe School branch was added. Charles-Dickens-Grundschule has both an English-German Europe Branch and a regular German Branch.
The school is located between the Olympic Stadium and Berlin's Grunewald forest, with very convenient connections to the public transportation system. A third building was added to the spacious school grounds in 2007. The 450 students at Charles-Dickens-GS have access to a well-stocked English-German library, 2 well-equipped computer rooms, a students’ kitchen, a large cafeteria and a huge green playground.

Avoid this school if your child needs any kind of extra support. The staff have no understanding of pastoral care. They failed our child in her native language in admission to the in first year, because of her hearing loss. Then they proceeded to talk in front of a five year old to tell her that she’d failed.

This school is a mess or at least it was. I have visited this school from 2004 to 2010. At this time the teachers were poorly educated. There were two teachers (which I won't name (one with red hair)) which stood out. Especially with there lack of intelligence and ignorance. Some of them were pedagogically irresponsible. The teachers have not even managed to settle a conflict, directed against Jews. In the end, the Jews left the school because the teachers couldn't help them. I can't recommend this school at all.
