At Baleares International College (BIC) we know that excellent teachers can transform a school, direct the ethos and culture and positively influence the success of their students. To ensure we deliver this, our recruitment policy is to only employ qualified teaching staff with British or equivalent professional teaching qualifications. All BIC teachers are native English speakers.
The teachers are supported by a highly qualified and experienced Principal and a large team of teaching assistants and administrative staff. All staff employed in the school are background checked and come with excellent references from previous employers.
Baleares International College benefits from a management team with excellent experience in delivering the best of British education both in the UK and abroad. The Orbital International Education Development Officers monitor the quality of education in all Orbital Education Schools and regularly carry out school inspections.
Baleares International College has membership of a number of accreditation bodies that similarly monitor closely the quality of education in the school against rigorous international and British educational standards.
I went to BIC and I can say by far the worst school in the island. They claim they are for anti-bullying, but when someone is getting bullied they do nothing. Teachers play on Skype to each other during class time, some of the teachers even pick on the students. Don't go to BIC. So many other great schools on the island to choose from.
My son was also bullied both by other students and one teacher. The school has a revolving door for teachers, heads and students. There were five head teachers in six years. A maths and chemistry teacher went missing in the first term and were not replaced. My son, a native speaker, was taught for English GCSE alongside kids with little or no English.
Some teachers are dedicated and professional but the woeful leadership and management mean that academic, social and behavioural levels are completely inadequate.
