The Thao Dien campus of the Australian International School (AIS) Saigon is the kindergarten and primary site of this private international school in Ho Chi Minh City, which belongs to the Inspired education group. It sits inside the An Phu Superior Compound in Thao Dien, a leafy area popular with expatriate families, and is made up of two buildings about 300 metres apart: Lotus, for children from 18 months to five, and Cherry Blossom, for Years 1 to 6. Both were opened in 2007 and fully refurbished in 2024, and the primary building stands next to the school's own sports centre with a swimming pool, courts and an artificial turf pitch. Lessons are taught entirely in English by internationally trained teachers, with a Vietnamese assistant in every kindergarten and primary class. The youngest children learn through play in a Reggio Emilia-inspired setting, kindergarten follows the IB Primary Years Programme from age three, and Years 1-6 combine the PYP with Cambridge Primary English and Mathematics, ending with Cambridge Checkpoint tests and the PYP Exhibition. AIS is an authorised IB World School, a Cambridge International school and is accredited by the Council of International Schools. All pupils study Vietnamese language and culture, and a wide after-school programme, camps and field trips round out school life. After Year 6, students continue at the AIS Thu Thiem campus.
