The French American Academy (FAA) is a warm, nurturing, progressive school. FAA offers a child-centered environment that uses the dual lenses of French and English. As a result, our curriculum inspires and cultivates open-mindedness, empathy, and a lifetime love of learning. At FAA, we combine the best of both educational systems and, with vigor and enthusiasm, create a path to excellence. Our dynamic bilingual education is more than just becoming fluent in two languages. More importantly, it is about learning and challenging students through language. Our Native French and American teachers create a nurturing yet challenging environment that encourages students to flourish intellectually, emotionally and ethically. Students are also immersed in a rich, multilingual, and multicultural environment, giving them a unique and valuable learning experience. We welcome students with or without French background, but interest in a rigorous curriculum and international experience is a must!

Our son attended the French American Academy of Jersey City from Kindergarten through 2nd Grade before we moved out of state, and we had a wonderful experience. We originally moved from Brooklyn Heights to Jersey City just for FAA — the tuition was much more reasonable than other French schools (many in Brooklyn were $45K+ or hard to reach for working parents), and we appreciated the school’s balanced, down-to-earth approach to education. Our son attended Jersey City Franco-American Academy from kindergarten to second grade before we moved to another state, and we had a wonderful experience. Our daughter started at FAA in Pre-K at the Hoboken campus and is now in kindergarten at the Jersey City campus—and we’ve had a good overall. One of the biggest reasons we’re happy with FAA is that they actually deliver on the bilingual promise. Even in just kindergarten, she now reads fluently in French, understands it really well, and while speaking is a work in progress, her reading and writing in both English and French are strong.
