Wetherby School is an independent pre-prep day school for boys in central London, founded in 1951 by Margaret and Gerald Russell. The school operates from three sites – Wetherby Notting Hill, Wetherby Kensington and Wetherby Marylebone – and educates boys aged 4 to 8 in Victorian terraced townhouses recognisable by their distinctive red doors.
The school is non-selective and prepares boys for the 7+ and 8+ entrance examinations, from which pupils move on to leading London prep schools. Wetherby joined the Alpha Plus Group in 2002 and, since 2023, forms part of Inspired Education.

Wetherby is a non-selective school that welcomes boys of all ability levels and maintains a large in-house learning support team. The Head of Learning Support works with class teachers and with external professionals including dyslexia specialists, speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, occupational therapists and behavioural optometrists.
All staff receive ongoing SEND (special educational needs and disability) training and take part in identifying additional needs, setting pupil targets and the assessment process. Teachers differentiate in class with tailored exercises and adapted activities, and provision includes early morning booster groups, small group interventions and one-to-one specialist teaching. Individual targets are reviewed periodically across year groups.
