Information about the educational stages of the St. Anthony's School

The school is organised in three stages. The nursery, which opened in September 2023 and is co-educational, takes children from two to four years old and follows the statutory Early Years Foundation Stage framework, mixing adult-led and child-led activity; it sits on the Junior House ground floor and has grown to roughly thirty children, with a schedule that includes art, drama, French, phonics, numeracy, music and PE and a spacious playground for active play. Boys then move into the pre-prep Junior House, covering Reception to Year 3, where the focus is literacy and numeracy with specialist subjects introduced from Year 1; Reception has two PE lessons a week on site, while Years 1 and 2 add a two-hour games session off site at Brondesbury Sports Ground. The Prep School continues to Year 8, taking boys to thirteen, with stretch and challenge built into the programme and specialist teachers from Year 5 onwards. Boys in the nursery have priority entry and automatic progression into Reception if their parents wish; girls leaving the nursery are prepared for four-plus assessment at other local schools.
