TASIS The American School in Switzerland is a day and boarding school of more than 700 students from Pre-Kindergarten to Postgraduate, set on a hillside campus in Montagnola above Lugano. Founded in 1956 by M. Crist Fleming, it follows a classical liberal arts tradition designed to prepare students for American colleges and universities and to introduce them to European culture and languages.

Sports are required at least two afternoons per week each season, with Varsity and JV teams plus more than 20 recreational sports; the Fine Arts program spans drama, music theatre, choir, instrumental ensemble, photography, drawing & painting, ceramics & sculpture and architecture. Students also take part in the Academic Travel Program, Service Learning and the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award.
