Colegio Internacional Meres opened in 1966. It is the only private school in Asturias with official IB status. IB stands for International Baccalaureate. Meres was also one of the first schools in Spain to gain this status.
We teach students aged 1 to 18. We help them think for themselves, build self-discipline and work as a team. Our goal is for each student to grow in confidence and be ready for life in the wider world.

Our campus
Our campus offers space to learn and grow.
Meres is set in nature in Asturias. Our buildings have large, bright spaces. We have more than 150,000 square metres of sports facilities. We also have 9,000 square metres of classrooms and learning spaces.

School meals
Our goal is healthy, balanced food.
The dining hall is a key part of school life. It is also one of our students' favourite places.
Our own kitchen team cooks fresh, homemade meals each day. We do not use an outside catering service. Many of our cooks have been with us for years. Their skill and warm approach have won our students' affection.
The dining hall is in a separate building filled with natural light. Here, students can take a break from lessons in a calm setting. They share this time with friends, teachers and kitchen staff.

Health care and school transport
Our students' health and wellbeing come first. Our school nurse cares for students with minor illnesses or injuries. Teachers and other staff also attend first aid courses at Meres. The school has a defibrillator.
Our 22 school bus routes serve different parts of Asturias. School teachers travel with students to help keep each journey safe, calm and comfortable.
The bus also gives students time to make friends. They can meet children from other year groups and school stages.
