Coruña British International School is a private, secular school in A Coruña, Galicia, ten minutes from the city centre with easy access by car. It follows the English National Curriculum and is fully accredited by the Galician government, a combination that allows it to offer a fully bilingual education from the age of three. It is approved and accredited by both the Galician government and the British Council and is a member of NABSS, the National Association of British Schools in Spain. Its buildings and facilities are modern and designed with children in mind.

Information about the educational stages of the Coruña British International School

Learning is divided into Key Stages with assessments at the end of each: Early Years Foundation Stage (ages three to five), Key Stage 1 covering Primary Years 1 and 2 (ages five to seven), Key Stage 2 for the remaining Primary years, Key Stage 3 (to age 14), Key Stage 4 covering Secondary Years 10 and 11 (ages 15 to 16) and culminating in IGCSEs, and Sixth Form in Years 12 and 13 (ages 16 to 18), culminating in A Level examinations. The school currently teaches from Early Years up to Year 11 and is progressively adding a new cohort each year until it offers the full range of schooling from three to 18; a new campus is planned as a single building with clear separation between educational stages.

Information about languages of the Coruña British International School

The school offers a multilingual education with English immersion for students from the age of three, and lessons are taught in English at all stages. Early Years classes focus on immersion in the English language alongside emotional intelligence, creative play and artistic and musical activities. Students additionally follow courses in Spanish from Reception class onwards and begin to learn Galician from Year 2. From Year 5 French is added, so that by the end of primary school students are able to communicate in four different languages.
