Colégio Atlântico is a private coeducational school in Pinhal de Frades (Seixal), at Avenida da Ponte, lote 356/A, 2840-167 Seixal. It covers the full education path from nursery and pre-school through to secondary, and offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. It has been an IB World School for the DP since 29 October 2019 (school code 060943, NIF 501193596). Educational principles
Human-centred education on the path to excellence. The school positions itself as the wellbeing centre of its educational community: staff, families and alumni get priority access for new enrolments, fostering a family-like, affectionate and safe learning environment. The Atlântico curriculum is designed to prepare students for life, developing reflection, autonomy, entrepreneurship and creativity. Tablets and digital e-textbooks are used from Year 3 through Year 12, with Microsoft platforms supporting teacher-teacher and teacher-student communication. Partnerships with local institutions, polytechnic institutes and universities enrich the curriculum.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) authorised on 29 October 2019 (school code 060943). In the school's own words: 'In 2018 our school applied for the Diploma Programme, designed for students between 16-19. We have successfully met all the requirements, having reached authorization in October 2019' (Patrícia Costa, IB DP Coordinator). Subjects cover all six IB groups: Group 1 (Portuguese A SL/HL, English A SL/HL), Group 2 (English B SL/HL, Portuguese B SL/HL), Group 3 (Business Management SL/HL, Environmental Systems and Societies, History SL/HL, Psychology), Group 4 (Biology SL/HL, Chemistry SL/HL, Computer Science SL/HL, Physics SL/HL), Group 5 (Mathematics: analysis and approaches, Mathematics: applications and interpretation), Group 6 (Visual Arts SL/HL), plus the IB Core (Creativity Activity & Service, Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge). Extracurricular activities are organised into three main areas. Federated Sports: football, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball. Artistic expression: contemporary dance company, ballet, rhythmic gymnastics, music, theatre and art clubs. Technology and innovation: 'First School, First Robot' (a robotics activities workbook for pre-school and Year 1, developed in partnership with the School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal) and 'Atlântico High School Work Experience' (short summer internships in companies and organisations for secondary students). Active Erasmus+ projects include: Accreditation 2021/27, Green Schools for a Bright Green Future, Smart Education: Explore CLIL by Using Robotics, Math is Life, S.O.S. and Recycle 4 Life.
