Colégio Mira Rio is a private all-girls school founded in 1978 in Lisbon (Estrada de Telheiras 113, 1600-768 Lisbon — Main Entrance), part of the Colégios Fomento network. Its motto is 'Mirare impetum fluvii' (Look at the river's momentum). It has been an IB World School for the Diploma Programme since 2018 (school code 060368), recognised by the IBO that year. It also offers Cambridge programmes. Inspired by a transcendent vision of human existence and the principle of personal dignity, it focuses on the integral education of its students: academic, human and Christian.

Educational principles
The curriculum project is anchored in distinctive components: the 'Mira Ciência' Project (raising science teaching quality, scientific method, interdisciplinary work, new technologies); 'Estudo Acompanhado' / Guided Study (reinforcing autonomous study skills — learning to learn — with monitored educational support plans); and 'Reunião de Turma' / Class Meeting, based on the POFA, dedicated to character formation and citizenship topics. Family-school link is sustained through the 'precetora', termly meetings, personal-formation and family-orientation activities for parents, and a 'family collaboration' team of class parent leaders. Christian inspiration (Colégios Fomento).

The educational project of Colégio Mira Rio rests on three pillars: (1) Personalised Education — supported by a 'precetora' (mentor), the key figure linking school and family, who proposes academic and personal-development goals for each student according to her age and family context; (2) Differentiated Education — Colégios Fomento has followed single-sex differentiated education from primary onwards since its foundation, respecting the differences in learning pace and cognitive development between boys and girls; (3) Integral Education — through a yearly Student Formation Plan (POFA) covering the physical, intellectual, civic, cultural, social, emotional and moral/spiritual dimensions.
