ABA Oman International School is a not-for-profit, co-educational international school in Muscat, founded in 1987 and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors that reinvests any surplus into the school. Since March 2022 it has occupied a purpose-built campus in Madinat Al Irfan, Airport Heights, with a Learning Centre, an Athletics Centre, a Performing Arts Centre and outdoor learning spaces. The school serves more than 940 students aged 3 to 18 from over 65 countries, from mixed-age Family Classes for three- and four-year-olds through Kindergarten and Grades 1 to 12, and describes itself as non-selective, placing children with their age peers. ABA is an IB Continuum school offering the Primary Years Programme from Family Class to Grade 5, the Middle Years Programme in Grades 6 to 10 (authorised since 2004) and the Diploma Programme in Grades 11 and 12; it states that it was the first school in the GCC to offer all three. Every graduate receives the ABA High School Diploma, accredited by the Middle States Association, and students may add individual IB courses or the full IB Diploma. ABA is also the first school in the Middle East authorised to award the Global Citizen Diploma. Class sizes are capped at 16 in Family Classes, 20 in Kindergarten and 22 in Grades 1-10, with teaching assistants in the early years. Students compete in Muscat school leagues and in MESAC, and the school runs camps and outdoor learning trips across Oman.
