‘ENGAGED TO CREATE A PEACEFUL WORLD’ Engaged The International Waldorf School of The Hague is a non-profit international primary school with a distinct educational vision. Our International Waldorf programme is shaped by the following elements; free play, imagination, empathy, engagement, responsibility, sustainability and well-being in our current society. These are combined with personal goals of enquiry, resilience, morality, communication, thoughtfulness, cooperation, respect and adaptability. Opportunities to develop and experience these elements are built into each unit of study. A Balanced Foundation The International Waldorf School of The Hague distinguishes itself through the integration of cognitive and artistic education. Children have a natural capacity to wonder and marvel at what they experience. The basis of our educational approach respects that curiosity in all fields. We consider physical education, handicrafts, art and respect for the natural world to be of equal importance to proficiency in mathematics and literacy. Our balanced educational approach addresses learning that occurs with the head, heart and hands. Start small, stay small-scale Our school, founded in 2018 has been growing every year with the addition of one to two grade levels per year. In 2023 we expect to have grown to a complete primary school with three Kindergartens and Classes 1-6. Even throughout our growth, the school has and will remain small, with class sizes of 15 children maximum. ​ Due to our small groups we are able to provide sufficient time, space and attention for everyone. Involved The International Waldorf School of The Hague educates children to become positive, active and engaged global citizens. We do that by aiding each student in his or her development as an independent, free-thinking individual; ready to become an active member of society. We also offer parental support through education. In discussions and lectures, we cover topics specific to our community like how to provide consistency when raising children in constantly changing environments. Social network The International Waldorf School is affiliated with the Vrije School in The Hague, a collaboration that renders many advantages. Not only are we able to enjoy the wealth of 95 years of experience and expertise but their history enables us to offer our families an extensive social network in the Netherlands. In addition, due in part to the Liberal Arts approach and the international curriculum, children can easily cross over to education programs provided by international schools in other parts of the world.
