School values

The school sees education first and foremost as an environment where children can grow as human beings, not only gain knowledge and skills. Its rhythm is marked by the seasonal Waldorf festivals, such as Michaelmas, the Harvest festival and Advent, together with celebrations from the different cultures of the school community, and parents are invited to take part. The school's motto is to be engaged in creating a peaceful world through excellent education.

Information about the curricular adaptation of the International Waldorf School of The Hague

Following the Dutch principle of appropriate education, the school looks at each child's learning needs and, when classroom support is not enough, provides additional learning support with partners such as SPPOH and the municipality's youth care team. If a child needs a more specialised setting, the school works with external partners to arrange a smooth transfer. Small classes allow teachers to give each child time and attention.

Information about the educational stages of the International Waldorf School of The Hague

The International Waldorf School The Hague, founded in 2018, is a primary school for international families, open to children of every culture and religion from age 4. It has grown into a complete primary school with three Kindergarten groups (ages 4-6) and Classes 1 to 6 (ages 6-12), and it remains deliberately small, with around 15 children per class. Teaching follows the Waldorf approach of learning with head, heart and hands: physical education, handicrafts, the arts and respect for nature carry the same weight as mathematics and literacy, and the curriculum follows the developmental stages of the child. The school is partly funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education and, under Dutch rules, admits children of non-Dutch nationality whose parents work in the Netherlands, or Dutch children with a recent or upcoming international move.

One of the best schools in The Netherlands. Each and every little thing done by the team for the growth of child awesome. Team waldorf makes sure that your child gets a perfect environment. Individual attention is given to each and every child. My child is growing with them from last 2.5yrs and I am very happy parent. Best wishes to Team Waldorf.

The International Waldorf School of The Hague distinguishes itself through the integration of cognitive and artistic education. Children have a natural capacity to wonder and marvel at what they experience. The basis of our educational approach focuses on that curiosity in all areas. We consider physical education, handicrafts, art and respect for the natural world to be of equal importance to proficiency in mathematics and literacy. Our balanced educational approach addresses learning that occurs with the head, heart and hands.
