Pupil support adapts teaching to each child's needs and abilities, both for children who fall behind and for more able pupils who can handle more than the regular curriculum, taking into account self-esteem, motivation, learning style, motor skills and social-emotional development. A Learning Support Coordinator and learning support teachers link teachers, parents and outside specialists, and the school has policies on friendship and anti-bullying and a confidential adviser.

HSV International Primary School is the international department of the Haagsche Schoolvereeniging in The Hague, a primary school subsidised by the Dutch Ministry of Education for expat families living temporarily in the Netherlands. About 640 pupils of more than 50 nationalities attend its locations in the city centre (Nassaulaan), Benoordenhout (Van Nijenrodestraat) and Bezuidenhout (Van Heutszstraat), from the Early Years Foundation classes at age 4 to ID6 at age 11. Teaching is in English by qualified native speakers. The curriculum combines the UK National Curriculum for literacy and mathematics with the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), built around international-mindedness and organised in mileposts from the Early Years to ID6. The HSV group also runs Three Little Ships, an English-speaking pre-school for 3-year-olds, and Lighthouse Special Education.

We feel at home at the NSL location, which is part of the larger HSV International school community in The Hague. We highly recommend the school if you are looking for quality International education with a local school feeling.

It is a beautiful school on the inside. I don't like the schoolyard because there is so little space for the children to play. Nice teachers, they are also quite funny. They can teach well. I really like the gym because they exercise very well, I have also heard that there is a sports day every year.
