QSI International School of Montenegro (QSIM) is a private, non-profit, co-educational international day school in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro, located in the quiet Donja Gorica neighbourhood about ten minutes from the city centre. It was set up at the request of the US Department of State and opened in January 2006 with only nine pupils; it is run by Quality Schools International (QSI), a non-profit network of more than 35 schools. Since 2014 it has occupied a purpose-built campus. The school offers an English-language education from the 3-year-old preschool class through Secondary IV (Grade 12) and currently has around 90 students from more than 24 nationalities, many from diplomatic, international organisation and business families, alongside Montenegrin pupils. Its American, international model of education is based on the US Common Core and delivered through QSI's mastery learning approach, with small classes and native English-speaking homeroom teachers from age five. Secondary students can take Advanced Placement courses and the AP Capstone Diploma, and the school is the College Board AP and SAT test centre for Montenegro. QSIM is licensed by the Montenegrin Ministry of Education, has been accredited by the Middle States Association (MSA) since 2014, received US State Department Office of Overseas Schools support, and is a member of CEESA.
