Britt Academy is a bilingual international school in Playa del Carmen, on Mexico's Riviera Maya, for students aged three to eighteen. It is the only school in the area to follow the STEM-focused Knotion Education Platform, which meets the requirements and assessment standards of the Mexican National Curriculum while adding elements from other international education systems. Teaching is bilingual, with part of the learning in Spanish and part in English, and a dedicated Language Centre gives extra language tuition so that every student becomes bilingual; students also sit Cambridge assessments in Grades 6, 9 and 12. Sustainability sits at the centre of the school: the curriculum is aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030 and students take weekly global citizenship lessons. As an Ariston Education school, Britt Academy is the only school in Playa del Carmen that belongs to an international school group.

Britt Academy teaches the full journey from preschool to High School for students aged three to eighteen. The preschool programme integrates internationally recognised methodologies, immerses children in a bilingual environment and promotes learning through play in a fully enclosed campus. From Elementary School onwards students learn several skills at once instead of taking single-subject lessons, and all students from Kindergarten up study Global Citizenship and Robotics. Junior High continues on the same platform with weekly robotics lessons in a purpose-built robotics lab, and High School adds a business and enterprise specialism covering finance, marketing, media development and sales, together with university-style forums to practise presentation and debate.

Britt Academy is a bilingual school: teaching is delivered partly in Spanish and partly in English so that both languages are deeply embedded, and many teachers work with students in both languages. A dedicated Language Centre provides additional Spanish support for international students, tailoring the teaching to each individual, and English-speaking students refine their Spanish through the bilingual curriculum introduced from Kindergarten. Students can gain certification at the end of Elementary, Middle School and High School, taking Cambridge assessments in Grades 6, 9 and 12, with the IELTS qualification taken in the final year of Bachillerato. Britt Academy runs a wide range of extra-curricular activities so that every student can develop their interests. Co-curricular options outside the classroom include sports, music, arts, languages, cooking, volunteering, debating and journalism. The school's facilities and its coaches and trainers support a large variety of sports; the Britt soccer and swim teams have taken first place in several tournaments in and outside Playa del Carmen. Every family gets one free activity as part of the fees, which covers two sessions a week, and activities start straight after school and last one hour. Off-site learning and trips are also frequent and are used to reinforce the school's commitment to the UN Sustainability Goals.

Most students at Britt Academy bring a packed lunch from home, an approach the school prefers because it means every child eats a meal they enjoy and stays alert for the afternoon. The school also sells food so that families have a high-quality substitute on rushed mornings; its suppliers work with seasonal, fresh ingredients, avoiding additives and excessive sugar, and there are options for a range of tastes and dietary requirements, including vegetarian.
