Tokyo International Progressive School (TIPS) provides an individualized, adapted curriculum for students with mild learning differences and academic, emotional and/or social challenges. All students receive differentiated instruction tailored to their learning needs, including specific seating arrangements, posted learning objectives, note-taking assistance, structured routines, colour coding, assistive technology, movement breaks, chunking of large assignments, simplified directions, regular checks for understanding, use of timers, and support in identifying and meeting deadlines. Small academic classrooms of up to 10 students allow teachers to give each student extensive individual attention. The school's specialist staff includes an occupational therapist, a speech therapist, counsellors, and a learning support coordinator who work together to support each student's academic, emotional and social development.
