CHIREC International School's Jubilee Hills campus is the dedicated preschool of CHIREC, a private co-educational school in Hyderabad that started in 1989 as a preschool and now belongs to the Cognita schools group. Set on Road No. 48 in Jubilee Hills, the campus was purpose-built for early childhood and serves children in Nursery, PP1 and PP2, roughly from age 3 to age 6. Its play-based integrated curriculum combines ideas from Montessori, Reggio Emilia and Froebel and gives a solid grounding in early maths, science and literacy. Reading is taught through an in-house series of storybooks and a phonics programme, and numeracy through sensory play and Montessori materials. Classes of 26 to 30 children keep a ratio of about one adult for every 13 pupils, and teachers adapt activities to each child's pace and interests, treating the environment as a 'third teacher'. Facilities include smart classrooms, a splash pool, a computer lab, a sand pit, a traffic-play area, a doll house, a duck pond and aquarium, a puppet theatre, an early-years garden and outdoor play spaces. Circle time, role play, field trips and public-speaking moments are used to build independence and confidence, and families are invited into classroom life through reading sessions and events.
