CHIREC International School's Gachibowli campus is an early-years and junior site of CHIREC, a private co-educational day school in Hyderabad that opened in 1989 as a preschool and today belongs to the Cognita schools group. Located in Telecom Officers Colony, Serilingampally, it welcomes children from Nursery, at about three years old, up to Grade 4. Pre-primary classes follow CHIREC's integrated curriculum, which blends Montessori, Reggio Emilia and Froebel ideas, and from Grade 1 families choose between the national CBSE curriculum and the Cambridge curriculum. Teaching is play-based and practical, supported by an in-house phonics and storybook literacy programme and a numeracy programme built on sensory and Montessori materials. Classes of 26 to 30 children are led by two teachers and a support assistant, giving a ratio of about 1:13. The child-friendly campus features a splash pool, a sand pit, a traffic-play track, a life-size doll house, a duck pond and aquarium, a puppet theatre and a kitchen garden. It also hosts one of CHIREC's day-care centres, open on weekdays until 6 pm for children aged 2 to 10. Safety is backed by CCTV, supervised buses and a controlled pick-up system, and the school describes its ethos as secular and inclusive.
