The Indian Public School – Salem (TIPS Salem) is a private school in Tamil Nadu run under the S.S.C Trust and part of The Indian Public School group, which joined the International Schools Partnership (ISP) in 2025. It opened in 2013 as Salem's first international school, and its main campus near Kuruvampatty Zoological Park in Chettichavadi, on the edge of the city, was inaugurated in 2015; the youngest children study at a separate kindergarten campus in Fairlands. The main campus teaches Grades 1 to 12 and offers several pathways: the IB Primary Years Programme in primary (TIPS Salem describes itself as the only IB-authorised school in the region, with its PYP authorisation renewed in 2025), followed by a choice between India's CBSE board (affiliated up to Grade 12, with Science and Commerce streams) and Cambridge Lower Secondary, IGCSE and Advanced qualifications, introduced in 2023. The school reports strong results, including 49% A*–A at IGCSE in 2025, Cambridge 'Top in the World' awards and college placement above 90%. The six-acre site has smart classrooms, physics, chemistry and biology labs, a computer lab, a 5,000-title library, a robotics lab and carpentry studio, music, dance and art studios, a multipurpose auditorium, a 25 m pool, floodlit basketball courts, a full-size football field with an athletics track, a cricket pitch and an indoor badminton and table tennis complex.
