St. Mary's School, Pune is a private day school founded more than 150 years ago and located in serene, verdant surroundings on a large campus in the Cantonment area of Pune. Originally established as an all-girls school, it now runs three sections on the same campus: a Girls' Section with classes from Nursery to Class 10, a Boys' Section founded in 1992 with a single class per year group, and a co-educational Junior College created in 2009 offering the ISC programme in Grades XI and XII. Students follow the ICSE and ISC curricula of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi, and the school has developed its own complementary programme to balance academics, creativity and physical activity. The school reports a 100% pass rate in both the ICSE and ISC board examinations and has been ranked India No. 1 in the Vintage Legacy Girls Day School category of the Education World India School Rankings.

Each of the three sections has its own library: the Learning Resource Centres are stocked with age-appropriate classics, fiction and reference books, and library hours form part of the curriculum, supporting student research programmes. Three computer labs serve the higher classes for projects and research, while children from Prep to Standard 3 work with iPads using Apple educational tools. Audio-visual classrooms are used to teach value education and social awareness, and LCD projectors and laptops help simplify complex concepts in the senior years. The refectory and cafeteria serve hygienically prepared meals and snacks. A new Boys' Assembly Hall building has been constructed with eight classrooms and an auditorium on the third floor, and the campus provides facilities for sports including aerobics, swimming, basketball and football.
