QSI International School of Pápa is a small private, non-profit, co-educational school in the town of Pápa in western Hungary and a member of the Quality Schools International (QSI) network. It opened in August 2012, after several years of planning with local stakeholders, to offer an English-language education to expatriate families and to local families who want their children taught in English; its first year closed with 61 pupils. The school currently has just over 80 students representing between 17 and 19 nationalities, and admits children aged 3 to 18, from the preschool classes through to secondary graduation. Instruction is personalised through the QSI mastery learning model, in which pupils must master each essential unit (graded A or B) before moving on, and progress is reported through regularly updated status reports, narratives and conferences. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association (MSA) since 2018. Teachers come from North America, Europe, Australia and other regions, and all are certified; the staff includes a director, 12 full-time teachers and paraprofessionals. Secondary students work toward a QSI diploma, can take Advanced Placement courses on site or online, and receive guidance on university applications and SAT preparation.
