ISR International Kindergarten Düsseldorf is the English-speaking kindergarten of ISR International School on the Rhine, located in a new building in Niederkassel with room for 110 children. It welcomes boys and girls from the age of three and prepares them in age-based groups for primary school, and is open for the whole day, from half past seven in the morning until six in the evening. Every child who completes the kindergarten is guaranteed a place in Grade 1 at the ISR Elementary School in Neuss.

Children move through three groups: K-Starter for three-year-olds, KG1 for four-year-olds and KG2 for children aged five to six. The day combines circle times and learning centres in English, mathematics and German with outdoor play, a quiet time after lunch and afternoons of music, dance, games and crafts. K-Starters follow an in-house programme of themed sensory activities, while KG1 and KG2 use Houghton Mifflin Harcourt programmes for phonics, early reading and maths. KG2 children visit a Grade 1 lesson in Neuss to prepare for the transition.

The kindergarten opens at 7:30 am and offers an extended-care programme from 4:15 pm until 6 pm. It is closed only for two weeks over Christmas and two in the summer, and during that summer break children may join the ISR summer programme held in Neuss. Lunch is eaten in the group rooms, where children learn to set the table and talk about healthy food, and parents receive progress reports twice a year and meet educators at two conferences.
