Liceo Panamericano Centenario (LPC) is a private bilingual school in the residential Barrio del Centenario, in south-central Guayaquil, Ecuador. Its story began in 1969, when five teachers led by María Teresa Solá de Estrada founded the Liceo Panamericano; English teaching was stepped up from 1984 and the school became fully bilingual in 2001. In 2013 the Centenario campus became autonomous, and in 2019 it joined International Schools Partnership (ISP). LPC is an IB Continuum school, offering the Primary Years Programme from the early years to 7th básica, the Middle Years Programme (authorised in 2023) and the Diploma Programme (authorised in 2024), all combined with the Ecuadorian national curriculum. Children can start at age 2 in Maternal and stay until the end of bachillerato at around 17. English is built up through Cambridge English pathways, from Starters and Movers in primary to KET, PET and FCE in secondary, and French is added as a third language in the upper years. The school is guided by Christian-Catholic values, holds five-star EFQM recognition and ISO 9001 certification, and reports strong university results for its first IB Diploma class. New High School (2022) and Middle School (2024) buildings have recently expanded the campus.

Inicial welcomes children from age 2 (Maternal, Pre-Kinder and Kinder) with the IB PYP and early English. Básica Elemental y Media (ages 6 to 11) continues the PYP up to 7th básica, with Christian education among its subjects. Básica Superior y Bachillerato (ages 12 to 17) follows the IB MYP and then the IB Diploma Programme, with Future Pathways counselling for university. Applications are accepted throughout the year, depending on available places.

LPC is bilingual. English is introduced in the early years through songs, games and stories, and from primary onwards it is used academically across several subjects in line with the IB programmes. Pupils follow Cambridge English pathways, preparing for Starters, Movers and Flyers in primary and for A2, B1 and B2 exams in secondary, with the goal of reaching at least B2 before graduating. Spanish remains the main home language, French is taught as a third language in the upper years, and new students take an initial language assessment.

LPC is authorised for the three IB programmes: the PYP from Pre-Kinder to 7th básica, the MYP with interdisciplinary projects in the following years, and since 2024 the IB Diploma Programme in bachillerato. Pupils' progress is measured twice a year with MAP tests from grade 2 to 11. As a Cambridge English preparation centre, the school prepares pupils for Starters in 3rd, Movers in 5th and Flyers in 7th básica, and for KET, PET and FCE in secondary. ISP programmes open to students include Chess Masters, Filmmakers, Changemakers, Artists and Model United Nations, while the Future Pathways programme gives university and career counselling.

Clubs and workshops include chess, art, music, karate, football, volleyball and cheerleading, and teams compete for the school in tournaments at home and abroad. The LPC Sports Academy runs skating sessions on weekday afternoons and Saturdays during the school year, and the Summer Dance Academy offers dance classes at similar times. School transport is run by SEDAREY, with real-time satellite tracking for parents, on-board cameras and seat belts, and accident insurance. Sports areas include a covered football pitch, a multi-purpose court and a basketball court for primary pupils. Early years children have their own classrooms, a story corner and a playground with slides, and the High School corridor features a giant chess set.
