Xiamen International School (XIS), established in 1997, is an independent international day school in Xiamen, Fujian Province, China, serving students from over 30 countries. XIS is a fully authorized IB World School offering the Primary Years Programme (PK-5), Middle Years Programme (grades 6-10) and Diploma Programme (grades 11-12); the language of instruction is English. The school has been accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) since 2001. XIS participates in regional athletics, arts and cultural leagues and conferences including ACAMIS, SCISAC and ISCMS, and offers after-school activities such as football, handball, jump rope, music (ukulele, ocarina, drums), pony club, traditional Chinese painting and creative art and design.

Every elementary grade has a dedicated EAL teacher who works with homeroom staff to differentiate instruction, and secondary English learners follow a phased language acquisition course. XIS is the only IB continuum school in Xiamen. The Primary Years Programme runs from Pre-K to Grade 5, the Middle Years Programme from Grade 6 to Grade 10 and the Diploma Programme in Grades 11 and 12. Under its IB-for-All approach, every high school student completes either the full Diploma or IB courses alongside the XIS High School Diploma, and many graduates earn a bilingual Diploma.

English is the language of instruction, with EAL support from Grade 1 to Grade 9. The Activities Program for Grades 1 to 12 runs on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Elementary options have included choir, ukulele, recorder, musical theatre, Chinese traditional dance, sketching, yoga, tennis, soccer, basketball, softball and Spanish; secondary students have chosen from jazz and rock bands, knitting, chess, table tennis, Japanese, Model UN, drama, dance, reading and maths clubs and academic support. Teams play volleyball, football, basketball, badminton, swimming and athletics in ACAMIS and SCISAC tournaments.

Three connected buildings house all students from Pre-K to Grade 12. Besides general classrooms students use three studios for art, a pair of computer labs, design and 3-D printing labs, three music rooms with attached practice rooms, three science labs and a library of over 30,000 volumes. A new early childhood centre opens onto an outdoor free-play area, and the campus also has a full-size football pitch, multi-sport courts, a track, a tennis court, an air-conditioned gym and an indoor pool.
