British Royal School (BRS) is a private bilingual school in La Reina, a leafy residential district in the east of Santiago, Chile. It was founded in January 1986 in Las Condes, received official recognition from the Ministry of Education in 1987 and moved to its current home on Avenida Las Perdices in 1990; in 2021 it joined International Schools Partnership (ISP). Today it has more than 1,300 students from age 2 (Tiny) to IV Medio, spread over two nearby campuses: Álvaro Casanova for Infant and Primary School and Las Perdices for Middle and Senior School. BRS follows the Chilean national curriculum with English as a language of instruction, offering full English immersion up to Grade 6 and an intensive English programme afterwards; students sit Cambridge English examinations at key stages, and the school aims for every graduate to reach at least B2. Its educational project rests on four pillars: social-emotional wellbeing, bilingual education, academic development and sport. In its 2025 PAES results it reported ten top national scores, and since 2025 the Tesla pre-university programme runs inside the school to prepare seniors for university entrance. Families also value the 'Protected Education' induction programme for new students, more than 40 extracurricular activities and large sports grounds.

English (Instructional)
Information about languages of the British Royal School
English is the main language of instruction in the early years, with total immersion up to Grade 6 and English as a vehicle for learning from Infant School. From Grade 7 the school continues with an intensive English programme. Spanish, the mother tongue of most pupils, is developed through the national curriculum. English classes are organised in three levels within a Cambridge programme, with EAL support for students who need it, and all pupils sit international English exams at key stages, aiming for at least B2.
Information about international degrees and programmes of the British Royal School
BRS does not run an international diploma; it follows the Chilean national curriculum taught bilingually. English is the language of instruction with full immersion up to Grade 6, and from Grade 7 an intensive English programme continues with more weekly hours than a typical Chilean school. From 1º básico to IV medio students prepare for Cambridge English certificates aligned with the CEFR, with the FCE in Senior School and a target of at least B2 for every graduate. Senior students prepare for the PAES university admission test with the Tesla pre-university programme on campus, and ISP international opportunities such as Model United Nations, Filmmakers and virtual exchanges are available.
