QSI International School of Sarajevo is a private, non-profit English-medium school in the centre of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and part of the Quality Schools International (QSI) network. It opened in 1997 with ten students in a small house, created to serve the international community involved in rebuilding the city after the war, and has since moved several times as enrolment grew. Today it occupies a renovated building of almost 4,000 m² on Alipašina Street, registered with the local education authorities. The school welcomes children from age three (preschool) through Secondary IV (Grade 12), and its community represents more than 25 nationalities, including both expatriate and local families. Teaching follows the QSI mastery learning model: students move on to new material once they have shown command of each unit, and character development is built in through the QSI Success Orientations and the EMPOWER social-emotional and child-protection curriculum. QSI Sarajevo is accredited by the Middle States Association (MSA-CESS) and is a member of the Central and Eastern European Schools Association (CEESA). Secondary students follow a four-year plan toward a QSI diploma and can take Advanced Placement courses on site or through QSI Virtual School.
