Bahrain Bayan School (BBS) is an independent, non-profit, co-educational school in Isa Town, Kingdom of Bahrain, founded in 1982 by Dr. Sh. May Al Otaibi. It enrols about 1,436 students from KG1 to Grade 12, roughly 54% boys and 46% girls, and the school notes that around 98% of its families come from Bahrain and neighbouring GCC countries. The defining feature is a genuinely bilingual Arabic-English programme: preschool children alternate languages day by day, primary pupils spend half of each day in an Arabic classroom and half in an English one, and both languages remain languages of instruction through secondary school. English, mathematics and science follow the AERO standards, while Arabic, Citizenship and Islamic Studies follow the Bahraini Ministry of Education requirements. All high school courses are college preparatory, every graduate receives the Bayan High School Diploma, and in Grades 11 and 12 students can take individual IB courses or the full IB Diploma, which the school has offered since 1993. BBS is licensed by the Ministry of Education, accredited by the Middle States Association (MSA), rated outstanding by the national quality authority and is a NESA member. The campus is organised into a separate preschool building opened in 2018, a primary complex for Grades 1-5 and a secondary campus with science and robotics labs, the AlRomaihi Innovation Hub, a 600-seat theatre and indoor sports halls. The school also runs BayMUN, a THIMUN-affiliated Model UN conference founded in 2008-09.
