Quick answer: Which are the best international schools in Wroclaw? Wroclaw has a compact group of English-medium schools, split between the IB and the British system. British International School Wroclaw, Wroclaw International School, the International High School of Wroclaw, American School of Wroclaw and Wroclaw Cosmopolitan School are the usual shortlist. Published monthly tuition runs from about PLN 2,300 to PLN 4,900.

Ask three relocation consultants in Lower Silesia which school is top and you will probably get three answers. That is not a bad sign. The best international schools in Wroclaw differ mainly in curriculum, with an IB cluster on one side of the city and British and Cambridge schools on the other, and the right pick depends on where your child has been learning and where they might go next.
Below we look at five schools, what they teach and what they charge, using the schools' own fee pages and the International Baccalaureate's school register. We also cover how Polish school-age rules affect younger children, which matters more than most newcomers expect.
Living in Wroclaw with school-age children
Wroclaw has become one of Poland's main hubs for business services, IT and manufacturing, and many foreign families arrive on corporate assignments with firms based in the city or in the industrial zones to the south and west. The result is a steady, mid-sized international community: big enough to sustain several English-medium schools, small enough that families often know each other across schools.
Geography helps. Most international schools sit in the southern Krzyki district, on or near ul. Rac艂awicka, ul. Partynicka and al. Akacjowa, which puts them close to popular family neighbourhoods such as Opor贸w, Partynice and Klecina. The main exception is Wroclaw Cosmopolitan School on ul. Fabryczna in the west of the city, towards the airport. Wroclaw's tram network is good, but the ring road and bridges over the Oder can slow car journeys at rush hour, so a home within 15 to 20 minutes of school is worth prioritising.
Winters are cold and the school day often includes after-school clubs, so check whether supervised care runs until working parents can collect.
Curricula on offer in Wroclaw
- International Baccalaureate: the IBO lists Wroclaw International School for the PYP and MYP, the American School of Wroclaw for the MYP and Diploma Programme, and International Primary School for the PYP. The International High School of Wroclaw teaches the Diploma.
- Cambridge (British) curriculum: British International School Wroclaw runs Cambridge Primary, IGCSE and A Levels; Wroclaw Cosmopolitan School's high school is a registered Cambridge centre.
- American curriculum: the American School of Wroclaw follows American standards in primary before moving to the IB, and British International School Wroclaw offers a USA High School Diploma pathway.
- Polish national programme alongside English: several schools, including the American School, teach the Polish core curriculum in parallel, which helps Polish or mixed families keep the option of a local school open.
Our shortlist: five schools and who they suit
British International School Wroclaw
Known locally as BISC, the school describes itself as a fully accredited Cambridge International School, with Early Years through to A Levels on a green campus at al. Akacjowa 10-12. It says students come from over 30 countries. One feature stands out: alongside the Cambridge route, students can choose a USA High School Diploma pathway, which the school says no other Wroclaw school offers.
Fees are among the clearest in the city: PLN 4,700 a month on a 10-month plan for Years 1 to 9 and PLN 4,800 for Years 10 to 13, or slightly less per month if you spread payments over 12. That works out at roughly PLN 47,000 to 48,000 a year. The school also notes that students can join at any point in the year.
Worth knowing: the fee page does not name the academic year it refers to, so ask for the current schedule in writing.
Wroclaw International School
WIS was founded in 2002 as a not-for-profit school and calls itself the first international school in south-western Poland. The IBO register shows PYP authorisation in December 2010 and MYP in May 2011, covering pre-kindergarten to Grade 10, with English as the language of instruction. Tuition includes the school's enrichment programme, its sports programme and after-school supervision, which is useful for working parents.
Worth knowing: WIS does not publish tuition figures online. It does publish its payment plans: one annual payment in September, two instalments, or ten monthly payments for individual payers. Field trips and the Polish-style "green school" and "white school" trips are billed separately.
International High School of Wroclaw
The natural next step for WIS pupils, this school shares the Rac艂awicka 101 campus and is run by the same Foundation for International Education. It says the school was established in 1990, shortly after the democratic transformation in Central Europe. Students take the IB Diploma, and admissions run throughout the year for all nationalities.
Worth knowing: if you are moving with a 15 or 16-year-old, ask how many places are left in the first Diploma year, since students continuing from WIS fill a share of each cohort.
American School of Wroclaw
ASW takes the widest age range on this list, from nursery at age 1 to the IB Diploma at 18, across a Partynicka campus for younger children and a South Campus for older students. The IBO lists it for the Diploma Programme from July 2023 and the MYP from June 2024, taught in English and Polish. The school combines American standards in primary with the Polish national curriculum and says students come from more than 21 countries.
Its published 2025-26 fees are PLN 2,300 a month for nursery, PLN 3,350 for kindergarten, PLN 4,000 in primary, PLN 4,500 in the MYP and PLN 4,900 in the Diploma years, plus a PLN 3,200 registration fee for new students.
Worth knowing: the bilingual English and Polish model suits families planning a long stay; children who will move on within a year or two may prefer a fully English-medium setting.
Wroclaw Cosmopolitan School
Part of a two-campus group with a sister school in Krakow, Cosmo teaches students aged 3 to 18 in English at ul. Fabryczna 14A. It says its students come from over 36 countries. The school describes an enquiry-based approach and purposeful use of technology across all subjects, its high school is registered with Cambridge, and its preschool and primary school appear in the Polish schools register.
Worth knowing: Cosmo does not publish fees on its website, so request the schedule early. It is also the most practical choice on this list for families living in western districts such as Muchob贸r or Le艣nica.
Fees and extra costs in Wroclaw
Most Wroclaw schools quote fees per month in z艂oty, which makes comparison tricky. Using published figures, and with euros at roughly PLN 4.25:
- Nursery and kindergarten: about PLN 2,300 to 3,350 a month (roughly EUR 540 to 790).
- Primary: about PLN 4,000 to 4,700 a month, or roughly PLN 40,000 to 50,000 a year depending on whether you pay over 10 or 12 months.
- Secondary and IB Diploma or A Level years: about PLN 4,500 to 4,900 a month (roughly EUR 1,060 to 1,150).
WIS, the International High School and Cosmo share figures only on request, so treat any number you hear informally as a rough guide.
Typical extras:
- Registration fee: PLN 3,200 at ASW; BISC charges a one-off fee with no re-registration later.
- Application fee: charged at WIS on submission.
- Lunches: not included in BISC tuition; check each school.
- Exam entries: IGCSE, AS and A Level entries are billed separately at BISC.
- Trips and camps: green school, white school, residential camps and day trips are usually extra.
- After-school care and clubs: included at WIS, charged separately at ASW.
- Uniforms, supplies and transport: rarely included.
One rule matters even at international schools. The Polish school year starts on 1 September; the Ministry of National Education confirms the 2026/2027 year began on 1 September 2026. According to official guidance on gov.pl, compulsory schooling begins at the start of the school year in the calendar year a child turns 7, and every 6-year-old must complete a one-year pre-school preparation, the "zer贸wka". International schools organise their own year groups, but the zer贸wka rule can shape how they place five and six-year-olds, especially at schools that also follow the Polish programme.
Advice for choosing well
Think two moves ahead. A child who has done Cambridge Primary in another country will settle quickly at BISC or Cosmo. A family coming from an IB school in Asia or the Middle East will find continuity at WIS, the International High School or ASW. Switching between systems at 14 or 15 is possible, but harder.
Check the Polish dimension. Some schools here are registered Polish non-public schools teaching the national curriculum alongside English, others run as purely international schools. That affects Polish language hours, the school calendar and how easily a child could later move into a Polish school.
Book visits for late spring if you can. Several schools admit year-round, but popular year groups can fill well before September. Arranging a visit before the summer, ahead of the September start, gives you the widest choice.
