The British School of Barcelona Class of 2026 Records a Perfect IB Score

The year group came from two parts of the school: BSB City, which presented its second IB Diploma Programme cohort this summer, and BSB Nexus, the sixth form centre in Castelldefels where students choose between the IB Diploma and A Levels.

In the IB Diploma the pass rate was 99%, and fifteen students scored 40 points or more. A Level candidates recorded a 100% pass rate, with 44% of all grades awarded at A or A*, and 25% of students achieving three A grades or better. Younger students also stood out at IGCSE, where 22% of all grades were a 9, the highest grade available, and 53% were graded between 7 and 9.

Results were only part of the story. According to the school, 149 graduates have progressed directly to university, in thirteen countries. Spain is the most popular destination, with 55% of the year group staying in the country, while 21% are heading to the United Kingdom, and 71% of that group will attend Russell Group universities. A further 10% will study in the Netherlands, and others are moving to Canada, Hong Kong and the United States.

Twenty-two students have secured places at universities ranked in the global top 100 of the QS World University Rankings 2026. By subject, 42% will study STEM, engineering, medicine, health or life sciences, and 34% business, management or economics. Executive Principal Neil Tetley described it as "a privilege to see so many students achieve such great results".
