KUALA LUMPUR, 10 October 2026. The British International School of Kuala Lumpur (BSKL) has reported that 48% of its A Level students achieved A* or A grades in 2026, well above the average of 28.3% for students in England. About 20% of the year group achieved straight A and A* results.
The school published the figures on 7 September, after the summer exam results from Cambridge, Pearson Edexcel and AQA. Across the cohort, 66% of students achieved grades between A* and B, and 86% achieved grades between A* and C.
University outcomes were equally strong. Head of Sixth Form Karolina Malinowska said that 79% of the class of 2026 secured a place at their first-choice university, and that every student received a university placement. Graduates are heading to the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Hong Kong, South Korea and Australia.
Among them, former Head Student Kiana S. will study politics and international relations with applied AI at the University of Exeter, and Ayaan will study pre-medicine at the University of Buckingham.
โWe are proud of our class of 2026 for these amazing results. It speaks volumes of the quality of education that BSKL Sixth Form has to offer.โ
Jeffrey Ison, Head of Secondary
The good news continued into the autumn: on 6 October the school announced that it had received two Nord Anglia Global Awards for its IGCSE results, one for the best IGCSE results in the Southeast Asia and India region and one for outstanding IGCSE results globally.

What this means for families
For families choosing a school in the Klang Valley, A Level results and first-choice university rates are two of the clearest measures of how well a sixth form prepares students for the next step. A destination list that runs from Exeter to South Korea and Australia also suggests that university guidance is built for internationally mobile families.
Families can compare BSKL with other schools in the International School Advisor ranking of the best international schools in Kuala Lumpur.
