BARCELONA, 11 October 2026. St. George Barcelona has reported that its 2026 IB Diploma students averaged 35.26 points out of 45, with every candidate passing the diploma and a top score of 42. The British school in the Sarrià -Sant Gervasi district published the results on 15 September.
The average sits well above the global figure of 30.88 points that the International Baccalaureate reported for the May 2026 session. According to the school, 58% of its students scored 35 points or more, and 24% finished in the top band of 40 to 45 points, compared with 8.9% of candidates worldwide.
The pass rate was 100%, against a global pass rate of 82.6% quoted by the school. The IB Diploma is marked out of 45 points: up to seven in each of six subjects, plus up to three for the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge, and 24 points are needed to pass. A typical St. George graduate therefore finished more than ten points clear of the pass mark.
University outcomes followed the same pattern. The school says that all of its graduates gained a place at their first-choice university, in Spain, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States, the Netherlands, France, Sweden and Greece, among other countries. Chosen courses range from aerospace and mechanical engineering to law, business management, robotics, animation and hospitality.
Younger students also did well at IGCSE. 92.8% of all grades were between 4 and 9, 56% were between 7 and 9, the top band, and 97.5% of students achieved at least one grade between 7 and 9.

What this means for families
For families comparing British schools in Barcelona, a sixth form that combines IGCSE with the IB Diploma is a common route, and results like these show what that route can deliver. A quarter of the year group reaching 40 points or more is the level that the most selective universities in the United Kingdom and Europe tend to look for, and the spread of destinations shows the diploma travelling well beyond Spain.
Parents still weighing their options can compare St. George with other schools in the International School Advisor ranking of the best international schools in Barcelona.
