MORALZARZAL, 14 October 2026. Fontenebro International School, in Moralzarzal, north-west of Madrid, has reported a 100% pass rate in the 2026 Spanish university entrance examinations (PAU), with an average score of 7.6 out of 10. The school published its 2026 academic results on 3 September.
The PAU is the exam that Spanish universities use for admission. Students can add optional subject exams to their general mark, which lifts the maximum admission score to 14 points. According to the school, 52% of its candidates scored above 10 out of 14, and the highest score in the year group was 13.85.
In the PAU, the Bachillerato average counts for 60% and the general exam for 40% of a mark out of 10, and the optional subject exams can add up to four more points. A score above 10 therefore means a strong general result plus good marks in the specific subjects that competitive degrees weigh most.
The results were not limited to the final year. Fontenebro says that its pupils matched or exceeded the Community of Madrid average in the regional external assessments taken in Years 4 and 6 of primary and in Years 2 and 4 of secondary, with particularly strong results in English, Spanish Language and Social Sciences, and solid results in Mathematics.
The school also notes that Universidad Carlos III de Madrid has recognised it in recent years as one of its 25 schools with the best university entrance results, and that the university has given individual awards to Fontenebro students whose scores were among its highest.

What this means for families
For families in the north-west of the Madrid region who want their children to follow the Spanish Bachillerato route to university, PAU results are the most direct measure of a school's final years. A full pass rate, with half the group above 10 out of 14, keeps the most competitive degree courses within reach, and the regional assessment results show that the work starts long before the last year.
