Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong Class of 2026 Averages 38 Points in the IB

According to the college, the average of 38 points is 6.9 points above the global average for the session. The highest individual score in the year group was 44 points, one short of the maximum of 45.

The diploma is marked out of 45: students are graded from 1 to 7 in six subjects and can earn up to three further points for the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge. A score of 40 or more is generally seen as an exceptional result, and four in ten Pudong graduates reached it this year.

Languages were another strength. Sixteen graduates were awarded the IB Bilingual Diploma, which recognises students who complete their studies in two languages, and 14 graduates achieved full marks in Mandarin.

The results follow a strong year for university admissions. Members of the Class of 2026 received offers from universities in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Asia, including the University of Cambridge, University College London, King's College London, the University of California, Berkeley, the University of California, Los Angeles, New York University, the University of Toronto, the University of Hong Kong and the University of Melbourne.

“Congratulations to our Class of 2026. Their results are a genuine reflection of the drive, curiosity and resilience they have shown throughout their time at Dulwich College Shanghai.”

Garry Russell, Head of College, Dulwich College Shanghai

Amy Murphy, Head of Senior School, said that what stood out most for her was not only what the year group had achieved academically, but also what its members had contributed to the college community along the way.

About Dulwich College Shanghai

Dulwich College Shanghai is a British international school for expatriate students aged 2 to 18, organised in three schools: DUCKS for ages 2 to 7, the Junior School for ages 7 to 11 and the Senior School for ages 11 to 18. Its Pudong campus is on Lan An Road in Jinqiao. It belongs to the Dulwich College International family of schools.

From this academic year, the Pudong and Puxi campuses operate together as Dulwich College Shanghai under a "One College, Two Campuses" model, with both the IB Diploma and A Levels offered in the final two years. The college has also been chosen to host the Dulwich Olympiad in 2027.

What this means for families

For families relocating to Shanghai, results like these give a clear picture of what the IB Diploma can look like at its best: a whole year group passing, a high share of scores of 40 or more and strong outcomes in Mandarin alongside English. The university list also shows that the diploma opens doors in the UK, North America and Asia at the same time, which matters for internationally mobile families.
