Colegio Internacional Aravaca Records 100% Pass Rate in First IB Diploma

The average is almost three points above the global figure of 30.88 that the school cites for the session. It was the first year in which Internacional Aravaca, as the school calls itself, entered students for the Diploma Programme, and every candidate earned the qualification.

The school also reported that 85% of its candidates earned the IB Bilingual Diploma, which the IB awards to students who complete their studies in two languages. The school says the figure reflects the importance it places on proficiency in several languages.

Students taking the Spanish route did well too. In the 2026 university entrance examinations (PAU), the school reported a 100% pass rate and an average score of 8.7 out of 10. With optional subject exams the admission score can reach 14 points, and 58% of its students averaged above 10, 35.48% above 12 and 16.13% above 13. The highest university entrance score was 13.73 out of 14.

The IB Diploma is marked out of 45 points: up to seven in each of six subjects, plus up to three for the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge. A diploma requires at least 24 points and a set of minimum conditions across subjects.

About Colegio Internacional Aravaca

Colegio Internacional Aravaca is a bilingual international school in Aravaca, in the north-west of Madrid, for students aged 2 to 18. It is part of International Schools Partnership (ISP).

It is one of the few schools in Madrid to offer the full IB Continuum: the Primary Years Programme in Early Years and Primary, the Middle Years Programme in secondary and the Diploma Programme in the last two years. It also teaches the Spanish curriculum and the Spanish Bachillerato, in English and Spanish.

What this means for families

For families in Madrid deciding between the IB Diploma and the Spanish Bachillerato, Aravaca now offers both routes with results to show for each. A full pass rate in a first diploma session is a reassuring sign for a new programme, and the high share of bilingual diplomas suits students who want to keep both Spanish and international universities open. Families visiting the school may want to ask how students choose between the two routes and when that decision is made.

Parents can compare Aravaca with other schools in the capital in the International School Advisor ranking of the best international schools in Madrid.
