About The English Academy (TEA)

At The English Academy (TEA) every member of staff is driven by a passion to ensure each and every student has a happy and successful school experience. We are focussed on enabling each student to fulfil their potential, so that when they leave us, they are resilient, confident and assured young people able to succeed in the 21st Century world, possessing a global perspective. This is particularly pertinent since many of our students join at a very early age, as TEA is an all-through school, catering for students from KG to Post-16. We combine a strong emphasis on traditional values of behaviour, instil a work ethic of determination and respect, which all sits within a framework of care and support for our students.

We believe in treating every student as an individual, making sure nobody gets ‘left behind.’ We have structures and processes that not only give each student a sense of identity but allows for their well-being and academic progress to be well supported. Working closely with each student and having excellent communication between school and home is also key to ensuring that students thrive and go beyond their best.

In addition to the focus on academic achievement and well-being we believe that enriching learning outside of the classroom is essential to a happy school life. To this end we offer a wealth of after school clubs that are inclusive and offer a wide variety of choice, ensuring all student interests are catered for. We also pride ourselves on the exceptional sport, art, nutrition and music departments where enjoyment, participation and performances are all encouraged. Students also have the opportunity to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Award and Model United Nations.

From friends to teachers the school is wonderful, I learnt so many amazing and helpful stuff from there and everyday was somewhere special to be , the learning and facility are really good and there are many science labs and eqipments to make different experiments which is awesome. The English Academy is really one of the most excellent private British school in Kuwait

Overall

The English Academy has a low quality of overall education, as an alumni of this school I can safely say this has not prepared me for university at all. The teachers were atrocious half of the time and most successful students had to partake in private out-of school tuition to help them for the IGCSEs and A level examinations. They have a heavy emphasis on the sports teams in the schools and not much else to any other subject.

Trash, absolute garbage. I’ve been here for a long time and all they do is try and constrict their students to all these rules that make no sense, and the way they enforce the rules are absolutely insane. They don’t allow students to grow and be there own person. This school should seriously be investigated by the government and be shut down because of the absolutely appalling standards that they have. The school is extremely expensive for what it offers, they regard themselves very highly and try to show you that it’s “one of the best” via their rules , however, their facilities and methods of enforcement and getting the students to compile contradicts everything they wish to be. Another point I’d like to add is that the teachers are leaving the school, that shows you that their not even capable of keeping there on employees happy.

I am a student in Year _ and I dislike this place alot! The teachers (well most of them) treat you in a sexist way. For example : Mr Jollife treats girls much nicer than boys. When boys are late to class it's a detention and when it's girls it's a warning! I can not believe this is rated one of the best schools in Kuwait!
