The British School Kathmandu was established, originally as a primary school, in 1966. It is a fee-paying, not-for-profit, independent, international school delivering the English National Curriculum with sixty full time UK recruited staff (including the Principal). The British School Kathmandu accommodates students from Foundation 1 to A Levels. The International Primary Curriculum is followed alongside National Curriculum Mathematics and English from Foundation 1 to Year 6. Cambridge International Examinations and Edexcel syllabi are followed for IGCSE and A Level examinations (CIE is a part of the UCLES Examinations Board).
