About The American School in Japan (ASIJ)

The American School in Japan (ASIJ) offers an American-style college preparatory education for the children of international families. The American School in Japan (ASIJ) is an independent, co-educational day school serving students of all nationalities. Founded in 1902, ASIJ offers an American-style college preparatory education for the children of international families, including those on temporary assignment, as well as families who make Tokyo their permanent home. The school offers a standards-based curriculum culminating in an American high school diploma. ASIJ’s program develops the necessary skills for a student to be successful in their future academic endeavors, including in Advanced Placement courses and other advanced topic courses. Complementing its academic program, ASIJ encourages students to engage in a wide variety of co-curricular experiences, including fine arts, athletics, and service-related clubs, which we believe contribute to the development of the whole child. ASIJ further draws on its unique presence in Japan by incorporating language and cultural studies that celebrate its host country. ASIJ is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS).

Im About To Be A Senior Student And Rn Im Looking For A School That Would Fit Me And i Kinda like this one but the problem is. Is that im pretty much 100%asian and this is a American HighSchool. Well the reason why i liked this one is because im not good at Japanese and im pretty much talk in English well. The only problem is. Is that im not a pretty good English speaker so yeah. I want some suggestions to other's of what school i should pick. Oh and i already pick this one and a all boys school.

The new goal of the head of the school to let it become an elite school. I think it already is if you see which universities the graduates move on to. The teachers are amazing there and go the extra mile every day.

As others have mentioned there are little upsides save for the large campus. We did very little genuine learning and I am glad I have moved schools since. For example we build structures out of marshmallows(?) instead of learning.
