TASIS Portugal is the newest member of the TASIS family of schools. Joining three beautiful, renowned schools in Switzerland, England, and Puerto Rico, TASIS Portugal will offer a rigorous academic program along with vibrant arts and athletics programming.
In 1956, Mrs. M. Crist Fleming, a courageous and extraordinary educator, founded the first TASIS campus in Switzerland. Its great success and her commitment to international education spawned a legacy that continues to grow today. Mrs. Fleming would be proud that TASIS is opening the Portugal campus.
Our goal in educating young people is to help them develop the courage and the confidence they need to take the risks that result in doing great things. As is often noted, we are educating students today for jobs that don't yet exist and a future that is difficult to imagine. Given this, it is reassuring that the simple, yet profound, tenets of the TASIS educational philosophy are timeless. A TASIS education is designed to prepare graduates to lead happy, productive, and virtuous lives. TASIS also believes that there are certain things that all educated people should know, skills students must acquire, and attitudes children will formulate in their time with us.

How would you rate TASIS Portugal?
As a student who is currently enrolled in Tasis Portugal, I would like to share the the school is not everything it seems to be. It has a wonderful academic program however it is only the second year tasis has been doing the IGCSE program and it has not even commenced the IB Program. Although it claims to have "vibrant athletics" The athletics program is so underdeveloped that the school is not even able to participate in major tournaments that other international schools like Park, CaisL and St Juliens do. The teams at tasis are amateur and the coaches are simply teachers looking for ways to make a few extra euros in their free time. Teachers claim they can teach and appeal to all types of students however they teach every class the same way and don't understand that every student is a different type of learner. During my time at tasis (1 year and a half) I have observed the following: School arts and music program is very horrid. They encourage students to be themselves and show the world their talent, which is great, however they don't prepare the students for the humiliation and commentary they will receive in return from students due to being unprepared or having a lack of skill. The teachers have a "teachers lounge" where they gossip about students and this has been proven on several occasions where students have actually LEFT the school due to the awful treatment they received. The school fails to recognized exceptional behaviour in students who enter the school with a not-so-great- reputation. Tasis Portugal, as a so-called "community" fails to understand how learning is not a competition. The students lack support and when it comes to a test students dont do well in, they blame themselves for not being prepared when it is the teachers fault for not offering support when they can SEE a student has been already struggling. Last but certainly not least, the school claims to have a "diverse range of students" however the school currently has less than 5 dark skinned or middle eastern students in each grade.
Tasis is an exceptional school! The teachers and leadership are truly committed to providing the kids with a great education in a loving and supportive environment. The academic program is strong, however what impresses me most is the emphasis the school places on cultivating well rounded skills and values amongst the kids. The parent community is delightfully vibrant, helpful and fun loving. The whole experience has been wonderful so far. I can whole heartedly recommend this school!

I have two children in Tasis since 2020. We come from Italy, I was initially worried about school placement. But Tasis with all the team of teachers and directors made my kids feel like home from the first day of school. It is an excellent team, the structure is wonderful with immense outdoor and indoor spaces. Every month we organize external meetings and events with families. Tasis was the best choice I made for my children. Thank you Tasis!!!
We have three children enrolled at Tasis and we’ve had an excellent experience so far. Interesting and engaging curriculum, strong academic team and a wonderful and supportive parents’ community. Our experience so far has been extremely positive. We love Tasis and could not recommend it highly enough!
My daughter joined Tasis School in January 2022 for grade 5, and now she is in grade 6. I'm thrilled to have found such a supportive community of parents here, and we gather once a month for fun and social events to get to know each other better. The headmaster and his wife run the school with high-quality teachers who are both friendly and professional. Most importantly, my daughter is happy at Tasis and has made some wonderful new friends easily. The academic education provided is excellent, and the school itself is modern and bright, with ample space and a lovely, welcoming ambiance.

TASIS Portugal has been an amazing experience for our family! From academics, to extracurricular activities, to the warmth of the community. Grateful to be a part of the TASIS family!

My name is Manuel Mexia, and I am TASIS Portugal Business Manager. To me, a good job is not the job itself. Finding the right working environment is not that easy to do. At TASIS Portugal, I enjoy a lively work life with my dear, supportive and effective colleagues. Working with TASIS Portugal has indeed been a fantastic experience! TASIS Portugal offers an excellent working experience, with the opportunity to get involved in so many diverse projects. What I enjoyed most about being part of TASIS Portugal is the people I worked with. There is a great working atmosphere – it’s nothing like the other Schools, it’s a Family. I am grateful for the work done together, and I thoroughly recommend TASIS Portugal, to anyone who seeks an incredible place for your children to attend, and for those who seek a professional and ethic team to work with.
